Injured mountain biker rescued on Teton Pass

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Teton Search and Rescue volunteers came to the aid of an injured mountain biker Saturday after a crash left the victim unable to walk out under his own power.

It was Saturday afternoon when TCSAR was paged out—a mountain biker had crashed while descending the Parallel trail on Teton Pass. The accident left the man with a severely injured ankle, rendering him unable to walk or ride.

TCSAR got the call at 2:44pm and responded with the RZR and a forward ops truck with volunteers accessing the trail via the Old Pass Road. On scene, TCSAR volunteers assessed the patient and immobilized his injury. They then loaded the patient into the wheeled litter and transported him about a half mile down the trail to a waiting ambulance, completing the mission in two hours.
