R Park Winter Solstice, Lantern Trail
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Join the Jackson Hole Land Trust December 16, from 4-8pm for the R Park Winter Solstice Celebration and grand opening of the second annual R Park Lantern Trail. Quickly becoming a community tradition, the R Park Lantern Trail is a spectacle worth experiencing.
R Park’s trail system will be illuminated by approximately 250 solar lanterns designed by local art students from programs and schools across the valley. Visitors can stroll through open meadows, under the cottonwood canopy, and along the frosted pond, guided by the soft glow of the R Park Lantern Trail. Tomorrow evening, two fire pits will serve as a beacon in the night, calling intrepid explorers to a central hearth to raise a glass to public spaces.
Genevieve Catering will be on-site to provide free decadent mac & cheese and hearty chili (while supplies last) that will keep bellies warm and full as friends and families enjoy the brisk Wyoming evening in celebration of community conservation.
If unable to join for the R Park Winter Solstice Celebration, families and community members can visit the R Park Lantern Trail anytime until January 10.
R Park is located at the intersection of Highway 22 and the Teton-Village Road at 4270 River Springs Drive, Wilson. While parking is limited at R Park, additional parking is available at the Stilson Lot. Please follow the community pathway under Teton-Village Road to reach R Park.
