Search and Rescue plucks 5 from strainer on Snake
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue volunteers were called out this morning for a river rescue.
A raft caught in a strainer on the Snake River approximately four miles south of Wilson bridge resulted in the callout at 9:10am Friday.
Teams responded in a pair of jet boats and by foot to help remove passengers from the boat and get them to safety. After removing five passengers, the boat freed itself without the weight and continued on.
As teams were returning from the field, they received a second call to respond to a horseback rider injury off Teton Village Road. Just as teams were gearing up in a RAZR with a wheeled litter, they received an update that an ambulance was able to reach the patient.
