Suicide note from Brian Laundrie sheds more light on what happened the night he killed Gabby Petito
Not rage but mercy, says Laundrie. Petito was suffering after fall in creek.
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — According to evidence made public yesterday, Brian Laundrie admitted to killing Gabby Petito in order to end her suffering.
Laundrie shot himself as a nationwide manhunt was underway to find the last person seen with the missing Petito. The couple was on a ‘vanlife’ camping tour of the American West before things turned tragic in Grand Teton National Park outside Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Fox News shared the entire suicide note left by Laundrie in which he stated: “I ended her life. I thought it was merciful. That is what she wanted.”
Laundrie finished the hand-written letter by stating: “I have killed myself by this creek in the hopes that animals may tear me apart. That may make some of her family happy.”
Laundrie detailed an incident where he claims Petito left camp and somehow fell into Spread Creek. By the time Laundrie was able to get to her, she was hypothermic and may have had a concussion. Laundrie said he tried to keep her warm and comfort her but at no time did he seek professional medical care.
As Petito continued to cry out in pain, Laundrie said chose to kill her to end her suffering.
