Summit summer school ends early after evacuation
All safe, faulty boiler to blame for smoke/steam
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Summer school ended early for students at Summit today after reports of a smoke turned out to be a boiler on the fritz.
Jackson Hole Fire/EMS gave the all-clear midday today, allowing staff and students to re-enter the school to collect their belongings before ending the summer school day 30 minutes early. Authorities tracked down the problem to an issue with a boiler. The school district’s facilities department is looking into the boiler problem.
Jackson Hole Fire/EMS initially responded to reports of steam or smoke in the building at Summit Innovations School.
No students or staff were ever at risk but all were evacuated.
Students and staff at nearby Colter Elementary were not affected.
