Supplies running low, county switches to Moderna vax

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Due to vaccine supply, Teton County Health Department’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic will be providing the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine for all first doses beginning Wednesday, July 7.

The vaccine clinic will still have the Pfizer vaccine available for those who are under 18 and for individuals who need a second dose. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine will also be available at the COVID-19 vaccine clinic. All of the COVID-19 vaccines approved for emergency use authorization in the United States have shown to be effective at providing protection against COVID-19 including the COVID-19 variants that are in circulation.

All of the COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to reduce hospitalization and death from COVID-19. The Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines both require two doses and the Johnson and Johnson vaccine requires only one dose. Both Moderna and the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines have been approved for emergency use authorization in individuals 18 and older. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for emergency use authorization in individuals 12 and older.
