JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Town water rates are climbing. Customers will notice an increase in their monthly bill beginning in July.
The rate hikes are a result of a study conducted by an all-volunteer, 10-member citizen review committee composed of a broad cross-section of residents. The committee recommended to the town council that residential rates for water and wastewater service should increase, and the town council concurred.
Previously, the last water rate study was conducted in 2000. Rates have remained unchanged for the past seven years. An estimated $24 million in water and sewer infrastructure investment will be necessary over the next decade to keep up with growing demand.
