Yellowstone’s Dunraven Pass opens Friday…but for how long?
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Yellowstone road crews have been hard at work clearing Dunraven Pass but will their efforts be thwarted this weekend?
The white-knuckle road from Tower Fall to Canyon Junction will open at 12:30pm this Friday, May 27, but much colder weather with moisture is expected to roll in Saturday through Tuesday that could foil any plans of making the drive. It will certainly add a pucker factor.
Motorists wishing to use Dunraven Pass over Memorial Day weekend are asked to keep the real-time road report handy and check it often. Even when the road is open, visitors should anticipate potentially hazardous driving conditions and driving delays throughout Yellowstone National Park.
Plan to have alternate routes for travel should the road close. Drive slowly and with caution.

Beartooth Highway (US212), located east of the park’s Northeast Entrance between Red Lodge, Montana, and Cooke City, Montana, will also open this Friday at 8am but will close at 5pm and likely stay closed for the weekend due to expected snowfall.
The highway will reopen as conditions allow.
