Longtime owner of Teton Steakhouse Ann Bates passes
Jan and Ann Bates carried on a tradition of serving free Thanksgiving meals
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Press is saddened to learn of the passing of Ann Bates.
Ann, with her husband Jan, were longtime owners of the Teton Steakhouse. The local eatery provided free Thanksgiving meals to all comers every November. Ann passed away on May 29 in Logan, Utah.
Jan and Ann Bates ran the steakhouse for 27 years before closing in late 2012. The location now serves as home to Pearl Street Market.
Who could forget some of the great ‘color’ inside the eatery with one iconic sign reading: “There are many ways to cut down on red meat. We recommend a nice, sharp knife.”
Jan died back on February 23, 2021.
