Broncs linebacker Colter Dawson commits to Air Force
Standout footballer will sign with Falcons today
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Jackson Broncs student athlete Colter Dawson has committed to Air Force to play football, according to his father Ted Dawson.
Colter, a 6-4, 235-pound two-way player for the past three seasons as a Jackson Bronc, was offered a scholarship by the Falcons back in June. Air Force envisions grooming the new recruit as an outside linebacker/edge rusher.
Colter’s father, Ted, was a 4-year varsity letterman at Brigham Young University in the early ‘90s. His brother, Theo, originally signed with the Wyoming Cowboys but left after a year and is now playing at BYU.
Colter Dawson is considered the unofficial No. 2 most sought-after recruit in Wyoming behind Rock Springs’ Isaac Schoenfeld, who committed to play at UW. Broncs quarterback Sadler Smith is listed by 247 Sports as the 3rd highest high school senior yet to commit to a college for 2022-23.
While at Jackson Hole High School, Colter Dawson has also wrestled and played basketball.
Air Force plays football in the Mountain West Conference where the team finished the 2021 season with a 9-3 record, overall; 6-2 in conference.
Dawson is expected to sign today.
