Community Safety Network announces new executive director

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Community Safety Network (CSN) announced Shannon Brooks Hamby will be its next executive director. CSN is a Jackson-based nonprofit providing a safe place and services for people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

“After an extensive and thoughtful search, Brooks Hamby brings the necessary experience, vision and passion to guide and support our critical work,” said CSN board chair Brendan McDermott. “We are delighted to welcome her to the CSN team.”

Brooks Hamby joins CSN with a decade of local nonprofit leadership experience. She served as the executive director of the Community Foundation of Teton Valley before joining Climb Wyoming, a statewide nonprofit that supports single mothers discovering self-sufficiency through career training and placement. As the director of advancement and a member of the executive team at Climb she led the development of a robust fundraising strategy, program recruitment strategy, and furthered Climb’s programmatic approach through consulting with regional nonprofits.

She has served as a board member for several area nonprofits and as a mentor with Womentum who honored her with the Turley Onward award in recognition of an “exceptional commitment to create social change for women.”

Brooks Hamby will officially step into the role on June 1.

“I am honored to join CSN’s compassionate and committed staff, engaged board, strong partner network and deep bench of volunteers and donors to offer safety and opportunity to those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking,” said Brooks Hamby. “I look forward to continuing a 30-year legacy of exceptional programming Teton County.”

Starr Sonne will continue in the role of interim executive director through May.
