Jackson Broncs football eyes state title
The Jackson Broncs football team began practices this week. The season begins August 27 with the Broncs traveling over the hill to take on the Teton Timberwolves, kickoff at 7pm. Check out the full schedule for 2021.
The Broncs are looking for nothing less than a state title after coming oh so close last year in a loss to Cody.
For the Broncs, it’s a now or never feeling at pre-season camp. Led by 3-year starting quarterback Sadler Smith, Jackson has the leader and the cannon arm of a poised senior. Add to that, his favorite target—fellow senior WR Nate Keipert—and this is a tandem that could rewrite record books when all is said and done.
Then there’s the backfield. Brody Hasenack runs like the bulls he rides in rodeo. A vicious, twisting, slashing back with a speed burst that allows him to reach secondary defenders in a flash. Paired with the all-purpose 6’4″, 220-lb FB/TE Colter Dawson, Jackson can dish out an ample supply of thunder and lightning.
There will be holes to fill on the line on both sides of the ball. Jackson still lacks the size to get into slugfests with bigger teams like Star Valley and Cody, but the Broncs have everything it takes, including brilliant coaching with David Joyce, to run the table this year and bring home the trophy.
