Health honchos sound COVID alarm…again
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Never mind monkeypox, COVID is supposedly back in Teton County. Health officials are again sounding the alarm over increasing cases, moving the pandemic meter back up a notch to Yellow (Medium) risk level.
The increase from Green (Low) is owed to an uptick in reported cases. As of May 27, Teton County has averaged 8.6 cases per day for the past seven days for a total of 60 cases reported. For the last 14 days, 15.33% of the tests taken at the Curative sites have received a positive result.
Still, the positive test results are not translating into serious illness. As of May 26, St. John’s Medical Center had a 7-day average of 0 patients with COVID-19 in the PCU and 0 patients with COVID-19 in the ICU.
