High-speed chase hits 132 mph through Grand Teton NP
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — An Idaho man led law enforcement on a high-speed chase through Grand National Park last Sunday at speeds up to 132 miles per hour before finally coming to a stop and submitting peacefully.
The unidentified man was cited for multiple offenses including DUI, fleeing, open container, reckless driving, speeding and others.
Park authorities say the incident began around 3pm Sunday when a 2015 gray Dodge truck was clocked doing 108 mph on U.S. Highway 89 near Teton Point turnout. The driver attempted to outrun park rangers during a chase that exceeded 130 mph.
After coming upon traffic at the Gros Ventre roundabout, the suspect finally pulled over and submitted to search and seizure.
