JHHS Tennis teams start the season strong

Girls and boys enjoy wins over Green River and Rock Springs

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Jackson Hole High School’s tennis teams dominated the opening weekend of the 7-week season.

The Jackson girls slipped past Green River 3-2—all wins coming from doubles play. Webb/Wiley defeated Brown/Strauss, Ross Ferris took care of Brown/Strauss (6-4, 0-6, 6-0), and Stafford/Goldstein bested Travis/Schuh (6-4, 6-0).

The boys took Green River 4-1 with singles wins by Campbell Gervais over Braxton Cordova (6-2, 6-0) and Hayden Clark over Korban Arriell (6-2, 6-3). Doubles, it was Olson/Jost defeating Friel Findlowl (6-2, 6-4), Aepli/Wolf took care of Tirrel/Wendel (6-1, 6-2). Jackson’s only loss was the Webb/Stolte doubles team who lost to Arellano/Ross (6-4, 6-3).

Jackson’s girls and boys romped against Rock Springs. Both came away with 5-0 wins.

JHHS Girls:

  • 1S: Anna Revill defeated Isabella Rodriquez: 6-0, 6-2
  • 2S: Christa Finlay defeated Karlie Nandrup: 4-6, 6-0, 6-2
  • 1D: Webb/Wylie defeated Palinek/Bush: 6-1, 6-1
  • 2D: Ferris/Ross defeated Jones/Frazier: 6-1, 6-1
  • 3D: Stafford/Goldstein defeated Hollingshead/Hamblin: 6-3, 6-2

JHHS Boys:

  • 1S: Campbell Gervais defeated Khristian Sanarez: 6-1, 6-1
  • 2S: Hayden Clark defeated Shiva Yeshlor: 6-0, 6-0
  • 1D: Olson/Jost defeated Smith/Conover: 6-0, 6-0
  • 2D: Aepli/Wolf defeated Schrag/Smith: 6-1, 6-2
  • 3D: Webb/Stolte defeated Davies/Atkinson: 6-2, 6-2
