JHSC welcomes Kristin Waddle as alpine program director

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club (JHSC) hired Kristin Waddle as the club’s new alpine program director.

Waddle has just wrapped up her 11th season with the alpine program. She will replace Branko Zagar. Zagar, who has stepped down from the role of director, will be moving back to the Tahoe area to become the athletic director for the Sugar Bowl Ski Team & Academy.

Waddle hopes to build upon her decade of coaching experience.

“I am grateful to have the opportunity to help mentor and support the next generation of coaches and athletes here at the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club,” Waddle said. “I have personally gained a great deal from ski racing as an athlete and while coaching for JHSC for the past 10 years. I am now inspired to do my part and give back to this amazing program by fostering coaches and athletes to be the best they can be while loving what they do at the same time.”

Waddle grew up on the coast of Maine and fell in love with ski racing at Sugarloaf. Her love of alpine ski racing led her to Carrabassett Valley Academy for high school where she continued ski racing at the FIS level along with playing soccer and golf.

After graduation from CVA Kristin pursued her love of skiing and raced Division 1 at Bates College. Kristin moved to Jackson after college and began coaching for the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club her first winter season.

“With the club’s hiring of Kristin, I know that the JHSC alpine program is in very competent hands. Kristin has all the correct attributes to continue excelling with the work that we began,” Zagar said.
