Late-game poise vanishes at Teton, Jackson boys rebound against Pinedale
Andrew Hanna's two straight double-doubles pace the Broncs this week
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Jackson Broncs (4-6, 0-2) youth showed in a game they gave away in Driggs earlier this week. But that same team looked as good as they ever have in a win over Pinedale just a day later.
Teton 44, Jackson 34
Jackson Broncs coach Hayden Hatfield talked about composure—or the lack thereof—in the post-game interview with Jackson Hole Radio’s Marie Kane after the team’s loss to Teton Wednesday night. A 4th quarter meltdown unraveled what had been a Jackson lead most of the night.
“Young team, trying to find our composure. Too many turnovers. We have to somehow find someone who can lead us in the 4th quarter,” Hatfield said.
The search for a shooter from distance was also a fruitless one Wednesday night against the Timberwolves. Coach Hatfield auditioned his usual suspects—Sebastian Brunner and AJ Fowler—in search of a -baller but neither were feeling it. At all. Jackson ended the night without a made 3-pointer and scoring a season-low 34.
Senior Braxton Hess led the way for Teton. Jackson got most of its scoring from power forward Andrew Hanna whose double-double (20 points, 10 boards) was wasted in the effort.
Jackson 58, Pinedale 40
Jackson beat the winless Wranglers 82-51 at home just two weeks prior to Thursday night’s game in Pinedale. The Sublette County Part II version was another lopsided win for the Broncs to get the Jackson boys back in the win column after 3 straight losses.
Hanna notched his second straight double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. After that, Jackson spread the ball around with 11 from Seb Brunner, 10 points from Gavin Keelin, 6 from AJ Fowler, and 5 each from Henry Berezay and Isaac Larsen.

Coach Hatfield mentioned his team’s energy headed to Evanston. Back-to-back night and then a three-and-a-half-hour bus ride to Evanston will take a little out of even a teenager.
“We’ll have a quick, easy walkthrough [Friday]. Our guys’ legs have got to be tired,” Hatfield said after the Pinedale game.
Asked about the emerging Hanna and the fact that Evanston and other opponents may try to game plan for him, Hatfield recognized the importance of not being one-dimensional on offense.
“We’ve got several great players around Andrew. He’s no doubt our centerpiece. But these other guys are starting to hit some shots now. Guys like AJFowler, Gavin Keelin, Seb Brunner. They are starting to bring it,” Hatfield said.
The Evanston Red Devils (3-9, 0-2) graduated much of their star team from last season. They are led by 3-point specialist Noah Conrad and the steady play of senior Junior Zermeno.
