Pumpkins on Fire Fall Festival
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Art Association of Jackson Hole announces the 2021 Pumpkins on Fire Fall Festival on Saturday, October 9 from 3-7pm.
Join the Art Association at our family-friendly Pumpkins on Fire Fall Festival. The community event features outdoor activities including live raku firing of ceramic pumpkins, local music by Two Blue Shoes, and fun for all ages.
The festivities and live outdoor raku firing will be held on the Center for the Arts campus on the Glenwood Street side in front of the Art Association Ceramics Studio.
This fall festival provides a rare opportunity to see the raku-firing process from start to finish right before your eyes. Start by selecting a ceramic pumpkin hand crafted by Art Association studio users, dunk the pumpkin in glaze and then set it to the flames to watch it transform in this firing technique originating in 16th century Japan.
Items available for purchase include ceramic pumpkins made by studio users, ceramic cups and bowls made by Art Association staff including Shane Barnhart, Cara O’Connor, Kaylee Pickett, Anika Youcha, and Bronwyn Minton, packaged sweet treats from Persephone Bakery, and warm drinks.
Free entry with a suggested $5 donation, this fundraising event directly supports our year-round arts education programming, open studio access, community outreach, and public exhibitions, while making art accessible to all by bringing it outdoors.
