Stio steps up, new backpacks dished out to school kids
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Students in the Teton County School District were treated to free backpacks through special funding and a generous local outfitter.
Fund for Public Education and Stio this week provided some sweet looking backpacks to students. All students whose families completed the Free and Reduced Meal application were entered into a drawing for the free backpacks.
All TCSD#1 families are encouraged to apply for the Free and Reduced Lunch program, regardless of financial need.
“The data collected on the application is critical to TCSD#1 qualifying for essential federal and state grants,” district officials stated.
District-wide benefits include enrichment and intervention services and support for students at risk, professional development for teachers, administrators, and support staff. Federal and state funding is essential to providing a high-quality education and support for every student in Teton County, Wyoming.
