JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Things are changing quickly at the base of Snow King Mountain. Resort upgrades are in full swing which included the dismantling of the 40-year-old Summit Lift and the offering of the chairs for $1,500 a pop.
They were all sold—roughly a hundred in all—in an hour. Online purchases were opened at 10am on May 28 and they were quickly snatched up. Other chairs were held back for a future public art project so the legacy of the lift can live on in posterity.

Meanwhile, the Summit Lift makes way for the new gondola, shipped all the way from France. Construction will begin soon putting the gondi in place.
