Wyoming’s only major fire of note is the Robinson Fire burning in the Big Horns 20 miles south of Buffalo. It is 60% contained at 1,038 acres. A Type 2 team (Rocky Mountain Area Blue Team under IC Michael Haydon) totaling 350 personnel is on scene. The fire was sparked by lightning sometime around June 8.

Meanwhile, just north over the Montana border, is the Robertson Draw Fire threatening the Yellowstone gateway community of Red Lodge. It blew up overnight to an estimated 21,000 acres. Some evacuations have taken pace for rural residential areas south of Red Lodge.

Firefighters are working on structure protection. There is no containment at this time. The cause is under investigation. A Type 2 team will be arriving Thursday. The fire is currently being managed by Bob Culbreth and his Type 3 incident team.

In Arizona, Mescal, Telegraph, Slate, Cornville and Pinnacle wildfires rage across Arizona as temps soar daily into triple-figure highs. These larger blazes are being measured in square miles rather than acres burned.
