Broncs can’t finish, halftime leads turn into 2 losses
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Jackson Broncs fell back into some old bad habits, forgetting how to play a full 32 minutes and fading down the stretch. In both games on the road over the weekend, Jackson led at the half but was undone by poor play in the final 16 minutes.
Riverton 30, Jackson 24
The Wolverines held Jackson to a season-low 24 points in their ugly 30-24 win Friday night in Fremont County. The Broncs led comfortably at the half but Riverton’s big man Lucas Engle did a good job of neutralizing Jackson’s top scorer Andrew Hanna, limiting him to 13 points.
That left Jackson to outside shooting and it just wasn’t there. The Broncs scored a total of 3 points in the entire nightmarish 2nd half in what can only be described as a monumental collapse.
Cody 52, Jackson 44
Different day, same story on Saturday as the Broncs took a 22-18 lead into the break. Cody made adjustments, Luke Talich got hot (20 points), and Jackson again let one slip away.
AJ Fowler finished with 14 points to lead all Broncs scorers against Cody.
With the losses, Jackson falls to 5-8 overall, 1-4 in conference.
