Broncs QB commits to California junior college
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Graduated Jackson Broncs quarterback Sadler Smith waited for a Division 1 or Division 2 offer to come his way but none did. The record-setting signal-caller announced on social media last week he is headed to California to play junior college for now.
Smith led the Broncs to two straight state title games in 2021 and 2020 while being named all-state for three straight years. In 2021, Smith showed himself to be a two-way threat with his arm and his feet. The 6’3” QB completed 65% of his passes for 3,082 yards and 16 touchdowns in leading the conference’s #1 passing attack.
In 2020, Smith racked up 1,972 yards through the air with 16 TDs, completing 58% of his passes. As a sophomore in 2019, Smith through for 1,391 yards, 13 TDs, and a 57% completion rate.
Sadler committed to the Santa Monica Corsairs, a team that went 3-6 last season playing in the California Community College Athletic Association. He hopes to be able to make the leap to a D1 college team from there.
